Crows Nest Mainstreet is happy to announce Crows Nest Fest 2024 on Sunday, 20 October, from 10am to 5pm. This year with our expanded footprint around the new Crows Nest METRO, this highly anticipated festival will bring together more than 50,000 attendees and 200 stalls for a day filled with family-friendly activities, delicious food, captivating entertainment, and more! Highlights include the ever popular Food Alley offering culinary delights, the Licensed Zone with boutique marquees of tasty snacks and entertainment, music stages featuring Big Music and local talent, and Kids’ Zone with the Circus Playground, a petting zoo and pony rides. New feature areas include our Canine Capers in Ernest Place, Art Battles in Hume Park, and the new Food Truck Alley to help feed the numbers at the newly closed end of Clarke Street. We are also pleased to announce the exciting new Norths Collective Licensed Pop Up Bar … and more!
HOW TO GET HERE...
Drive, parking stations all around Crows Nest, Walk, Ride you Bike or for Public Transport see below
- Large crowds are expected to attend the annual Crows Nest Fest on Sunday 20 October. Public transport is the best way to get to the event with trains and regular route buses running regularly to Crows Nest.
- The festival will be held on Willoughby Road, Clarke Street and Hume Street which is a short walk from St Leonards train station. Please note that due to planned weekend trackwork, metro services will not be running to Crows Nest Station. You will need to connect with a train to St Leonards instead.
- Trains run regularly to St Leonards station on weekends on the T1 North Shore Line and the T9 Northern Line. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
- Remember, you’ll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
- If you’re driving, parking is available at a number of public car parks in the area, along with limited local street parking. Plan to arrive early to secure a parking spot and allow some extra travel time for increase traffic in the area. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Crows Nest Mainstreet exemplifies the very best of community spirit. It was founded at a time when local shopping centres were under threat from shopping malls, that were growing in both number and size.
It was nurtured by the vision of local businesses, who recognised the need to work together to protect not only their businesses but the shopping centre they loved. And it has been sustained over decades by businesses, residents and North Sydney Council who all recognised the importance of a village centre for community connection.
The winds of change are blowing again for Crows Nest and this time the change is on our doorstep. The opening of the Metro will improve transport connections, but at a cost of increased development and population density to the area. The challenge for Mainstreet — and North Sydney Council — will be to embrace the vibrancy while protecting the essential character of the village.
Crows Nest offers an excellent mix of essential shops, specialty stores, cafes, bars, restaurants and community facilities. Council has actively supported the village by investing $20m in a walkway and park on Hume Lane so that there are better pedestrian links and more green space. Our next project is to upgrade the footpath and outdoor dining areas on Willoughby Road.
I am confident that as Mainstreet, Council and residents work together, Crows Nest will continue to set the standard for a vibrant and viable village and go from strength to strength.
